When Should You Visit Egypt?

Egypt is a year-round destination, but each season offers a different experience. Here is our month-by-month guide to help you pick the perfect time.

Peak Season (October – April)

The most comfortable temperatures for sightseeing, especially in Upper Egypt. Expect 20-28°C during the day with cool evenings. This is the busiest season — book tours and accommodation in advance.

Shoulder Season (September, May)

Fewer crowds, reasonable temperatures, and better prices. Ideal for Red Sea beach trips combined with cultural excursions.

Summer (June – August)

• Hot inland temperatures (35-45°C) — not ideal for all-day temple visits
• Perfect for Red Sea diving and snorkeling
• Lowest prices and fewest tourists
• Early morning inland visits still work well

Our recommendation: Visit in October or March for the perfect balance of weather, crowds, and pricing.
